Dr Sharon Grossman and the 7E Solution to Burnout

Podchaser - What’s Your Emergency

Burnout in the disciplines is real, we all know it. Trouble is, most of the resources made available to first responders are tips on avoiding future stress (good luck with that one), avoiding alcohol (Again, good luck) and maybe go and get some therapy.

But what if the therapy, and all the books you read and all the advice you solicit tells you to start a journal, find a new job or hobby and “just give it time”?

Co-host Justin has been going through anxiety and burnout for almost 2 full years (and arguably before that even) and thought there wasn’t any more help out there.

Then he stumbled upon the 7E Solution to Burnout by Dr Sharon Grossman in his Amazon feed. Curious about the sub title “Transforming exhausted to extraordinary” Justin dove in, expecting the usual advice he had already received. It could not have been any different than what he expected.

Dr. Grossman is a Clinical Psychologist, Success Coach, writer, speaker and actually answers emails from firemen curious about if she is stalking them.

You can take her Burnout Test and schedule a FREE initial discussion HERE!

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Identifying burnout in yourself and addressing the possible causes
  • Why keeping your job is an option most ignore
  • Tips on dealing with anxiety with supervisors and workplace stress
  • How it is that Dr Grossman seems to be writing the book while looking over Justin’s shoulder

EDIT – Hey gang, Justin checking in from the future. While we interviewed Dr Grossman while Justin was still reading the book, the belief that Dr Grossman is a time traveler watching Justin recover was confirmed recently. While on a camping trip to destress following some MAJOR upheaval at work, Justin sat down with a coffee to read the next chapter of the book which discussed the importance of a cooling off period, stress management and time management.

BOLO
