Ask WYE – Issue 5 – Law Enforcement Strike Teams

What sounds like a really cool dude who knows his stuff left the guys a message asking if PD has the same robust mutual aid system that Fire and EMS have when it comes to hitting the panic button.  He didn’t leave his name, so we call him Gary.

Not just for events that start getting out of control, but if a controversial verdict is about to be decided can local PD ask for “2 crowd control teams?”

MotorCop explains to the Happy Medic the differences in capabilities of certain law enforcement agencies as it pertains to sending folks out of their regular areas.

• Does your agency have a policy for automatically requesting help?
• Do surrounding agencies know how to ask for specific resources?
• Are you able to communicate with them on the same channels and legally discharge your duties as an Officer?
