Saying Goodbye to Ted Selta
A little over a week ago the guys got news that their old friend, Thaddeus Setla, had collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest. A few days later the family shared that he was not going to survive.
As MC shares this week…grief is a funny animal. It hits us all a little differently but always in the gut.
To honor his memory we discussed putting the show dark as we’ve done in the past for Terry and Jason and a handful of others. However, the guys heard Ted’s voice sayin “Use this to spread the message.” So they did.
This week on What’s Your Emergency the emergency is that we just found out a good friend died. The tears of sorrow, the laughter of good memories and the need to sometimes just sit quietly by a friend as they grieve are all topics for this week.
Moving forward though, make sure of the following:
- Your living will and other documents are on file and good to go
- Determine a family PIO, someone who can be the gateway to information through good and bad
- Grieving alone is rarely good, find someone to listen, help…anything
- Ted only really dies if his ideas die with him
The generosity and kindness shown to our families by Ted Setla is immeasurable. His constant drive to do better, to be better, rubbed off on many and we’re proud to include ourselves in that group.
No BOLO this week. Hug your family.
