A Career in the Rear View: What Will We Miss?
In the wake of recent protests and calls for extensive reform of policing, in some cases abolishing it, law enforcement is seeing a rash of retirements and folks hanging up their vests. In this week’s episode Justin tries to get Jason, our law enforcement expert, to think about the things he’ll miss when he retires sometime in the coming months or years (20.5 months we think is the exact maximum he has left).
A training officer recently retired from Justin’s firehouse and she had 3 things she said she would miss so this week we find out if a cop and firefighter will miss the same things about these jobs when it is time to go.
And don’t worry, Justin still has 6-11 years to go.
What do you think you’d miss most if today was your last day in the disciplines?
- Driving lights and sirens?
- Sweet coffee discounts at the gas station?
- Dealing with supervisors?
- Promotional exams?
